Private Funeral Services for Clara L. Blair, 92, will be at 10:00 am Monday, January 11, 2021, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, La. Interment will follow in Lacassine Cemetery.  Mrs. Blair passed away peacefully on January 6, 2021.  She was a resident at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home.

Family visitation will be at David Funeral Home in Lafayette Monday, January 11, 2021, from 8:00 to 9:30 AM with recitation of the rosary at 8:30.

Clara was born in Mermentau, LA on May 18, 1928. After graduating from Welsh High School, she worked as a telephone operator and as an assistant manager for T. G. & Y. Department Store in Lake Charles. She later resided in Iowa, LA and was active in the Catholic Daughters and the Ladies Altar Society of St. Raphael Catholic Church.  In 2004 she moved to Lafayette and she became a member of Sacred Heart Parish.

Clara, “Gigi,” enjoyed writing short stories for her great grandchildren and has written many stories about growing up in South Louisiana. She enjoyed telling everyone about her days growing up during the Great Depression.  She made friends very easily and was a very kind and generous person.

She is survived by one sister Grace Hildebrand of Grand Rapides, MI; one son, Victor Blair, and his wife Mary; her grandchildren Randy (Courtney) Blair, Amy (Damon) Broussard, and Caroline (Ben) Mader; her great grandchildren Audrey (Will) Faulk, Kailey, Lacey, and Sarah Blair, Logan and Parker Broussard, and Georgia, Sophie, Charles, Leo, Emily, Jack, Julianne, and Teresa Mader; and one great great grandchild, Lucy Faulk.

She was preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Olivia Landry, brothers Edward, Emile and Bobby Landry and sisters Jean Ardoin, Dot Allen, Lorena Wells, and Betty Lafleur.
