Cindy was a loving and creative soul whose hands were rarely still and whose heart was always open. She passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind countless beautiful memories—and just as many handmade treasures.

Cindy had a gift for crafting warmth and beauty into everything she touched. She could often be found with a crochet hook in hand, creating blankets, shawls, gloves, and all sorts of cozy keepsakes for her family and friends. Her creativity didn’t stop there—she also enjoyed making jewelry, each piece a reflection of her vibrant spirit and eye for detail.

A true nurturer at heart, Cindy loved spending time in her garden, tending to her vegetables and flowers with care. Her Christmas cactus was one of her favorites, blooming faithfully each year as a reminder of her gentle patience and love for life’s simple joys.

Cindy was also a wonderful cook, known for her comforting home-cooked meals that brought everyone together. Her potato soup, gumbo, meat loaf, chicken stew, and spaghetti were family favorites, always made with love and a touch of her signature warmth.

Cindy’s creativity, generosity, and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Though she has left this world, her spirit lives on in every handmade gift, every blooming flower, and every shared meal that reminds us of her love.

She is survived by her husband for over 45 years, Wilson Bailey; three daughters, Laurie Bailey, Tonya Benoit and her significant other Darron, and Gabrielle Bailey; three grandchildren, Olivia Bailey, Bronson Bailey, and Kaden Benoit; and three sisters, Mary Hubbard and her husband Joe, Stephanie John, and Gail Breaux and her husband Glenn.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Haire and Barbara Dumesnil Chiapetta; a sister, Judy Robichaux; and a brother, Kenneth Haire.

Serving as pall bearers will be Nick John, Jeremy White, Mason White, Luis Gutierrez, and Glenn Breaux.

Frioux-David Funeral Home of New Iberia at 1101 Trotter Street (337) 369-6336 will be in charge of the arrangements.
