Chris, a devoted husband, proud father, and loving grandfather, passed away leaving behind a legacy rooted in family, hard work, and simple joys. A “girl dad” to four daughters, he cherished his role as a guiding presence in their lives, and his love only grew as he became a Poppa and his family expanded to include six granddaughters, three grandsons, and one great-grandson. Chris loved his family tremendously and found his greatest happiness in the time they spent together. He shared a special bond with his wife of 36 years, Debbie, and the two could often be found side by side, especially during their many days spent fishing together.
Chris dedicated over 35 years of his life to caring for others as a Respiratory Therapist, a career that reflected his compassionate nature. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, and throughout his life, he found joy in cooking for family gatherings, where his meals brought everyone together. He was a devoted fan of the LSU Tigers and took pride in cheering them on. Chris also loved the freedom of riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and treasured the quiet companionship of his beloved dog, Lady. Above all, he will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his kind heart, and the many memories he created with those he held dear.
Chris is survived by his four daughters, Tanya Gaspard, Kristie Gaspard, Heather Faul, Jamie Gaspard; grandchildren, Alyssa Duhon, Kayle Gaspard, Samantha Duhon, Natalie Duhon, Paige Dunston, Jonah Courts, Kennedi LeBlanc, Charlie Faul, Koren Thibodeaux; great grandson, Meric Breaux; one brother, Vance Gaspard, and numerous step-siblings, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Debra Farrington Gaspard; his mother, Joyce Connor Gaspard Meaux; siblings, Timothy Gaspard, Charles “Brady” Gaspard, Roland “June” Gaspard.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana. A very special thanks to Natalie and Seth.
