Charles Wayne Landry

Erath–A mass of Christian burial for Dr. Charles Wayne Landry will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2026, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Delcambre with Father Buddy Breaux as Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Mausoleum. Visitation will be held in the church from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. Charles, or Wayne as he was known to his close family, was a devoted family man who loved his family unconditionally and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.

Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy, a reflection of his commitment and strong sense of duty and honor. After attending USL in Lafayette, Wayne received his master’s degree at the Southern Miss University in Hattiesburg and earned his PHD in finance and economics from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Spending his entire career in hospital administration and elder care, he served as CEO of the Abbeville General Hospital from June 1987 until June 1989. Charles is survived by his son Robert Pierre Landry (Missy) from Atlanta, Georgia, Gabriella Landry from New Iberia, and Monique Robinson (Lee), and her sons Dylan and Mason, from Houston, Texas, and his grandchildren Bradley, Brendon, and Amber Landry. Charley was blessed with two great children, Kyra and Elina. He was predeceased by his cherished daughter Rhonda Landry Schmitt.

His siblings include Earl “Boo” Landry (Billie), Rene Landry, Sr. (Ivy), and Mary Comeaux (Mark). He was predeceased by the mother of his children Barbara Fitch, his parents Mr. and Mrs. Earl A Landry, Sr. (Inez), his brother Fernand K. Landry, and nephew F. Keith Landry, Jr.
