Charles Baudry, Jr.

New Iberia – Mr. Charles Baudry, Jr., 77, passed away at 3:30PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Iberia Medical Center.

Charles was a graduate of Jeanerette Senior High School and later spent several years attending a local vocational school, where he studied radio and television. He worked for many years in the oil field with Loffland Brothers Offshore as an electrician. He also proudly served on the Iberia Parish School Board.

Charles was a true jack of all trades who could fix, build, and figure out just about anything. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially fishing, cooking, and good Mexican food. He was a dependable, hardworking man who took pride in providing for and caring for his family.

One of the special things his grandchildren will always remember was the unique nicknames he gave each of them. Those names, along with the memories they shared with their grandfather, will remain a cherished part of their lives.

Charles will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His hardworking spirit, sense of humor, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy Bochat Baudry; a daughter, Amy Purtle (Ray); two sons, Chad Baudry (Jennifer), and Jon Baudry (Sarah); eight grandchildren, Austin Purtle, Ian Purtle, Caleb Baudry, Brittany Broussard, Ali Baudry, Max Baudry, Chloe Baudry, and Sutton Baudry; a sister, Rosemary Hansen (Mark); and a brother, Barry Baudry.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Rosemary LeBlanc Baudry.
