Charlene Ann Sellers Larive

Lafayette – Funeral Services will be held for Charlene Ann Sellers LaRive, 70, at David Funeral Home on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 1:00PM with Deacon Cody Miller Officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anne Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 10:00AM until 6:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 4:00PM.

John 13.35 "If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples''. There are as many ways to show love as there are facets in a diamond. Another diamond has been taken from our family of beautiful gems, our Charlene, or Chen as most of us referred to her. The many facets of her love were the obvious; she was a child of god, a beautiful wife, an incredible mom, a champion of a daughter, a hands on sister, a loving tataunt to a host of nieces and nephews, and a person that sought to help out every thing human or animal that she encountered in her life. She loved us through hugs, the occasional and always necessary hand of discipline (Beebus), cooking, baking incredible cakes, growing and sharing fresh vegetables, and carrying people and the occasional kitty when all they could do was stumble and not get up on their own. This is what love looks like. Thanks Chen for shining for us even when you felt you were surrounded by darkness. we just hope that you saw yourself the way that we do. Our broken hearts will always love you.

She is survived by her husband, Steven LaRive of Youngsville; a son, Ryan LaRive of Youngsville; two grandchildren, Orion and Attacus LaRive; a sister, Lisa Sellers; two brothers, Noille Sellers, Jr. and Felix Sellers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Noille Alexander Sellers, Sr. and Leona Marie Bourque Sellers; and a sister, Deborah Sellers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Abram Sellers, Anderson Sellers, Mike Miller, Ethan Hoggard, Orion Larive and Ryan LaRive.
