New Iberia ~ A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Chade Michael Duplantis, 43, at 11:00AM, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Coteau, with Father Matthew Hebert officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery  

Visitation will begin at 4:00PM, on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of New Iberia and continue until 9:00PM. A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00PM.

Visitation will reopen at 8:00AM, on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Frioux-David Funeral Home of New Iberia and continue until the time of service.

Mr. Chade Michael Duplantis, a true original, brought light, laughter, and a touch of mischief to every life he touched. Known for his boundless love of music—especially anything by Conway Twitty—he had a rule: if it was a song or show he liked, don’t even think about touching the dial. A self-proclaimed Professional Taste Tester, he never met a meal he didn’t love. Biscuits and a Diet Coke were his signature favorites, and leaving your food unattended was risky business—because if you blinked, it was gone. His love for animals was as genuine as his smile, and his creativity knew no bounds—whether it was his warm spirit or his iconic fashion choice of two socks on one foot, he was always ahead of the trend. Described best as pure sunshine, he warmed every room and every heart. Joyful, kind, canaille in the best way, and always happy—Chade made the world a better, brighter place simply by being in it.

Mr. Chade Michael Duplantis is survived by his parents, David Wayne Duplantis and Debbie Dupuy Duplantis; paternal grandfather, Nolan Duplantis; brother, Deric Duplantis and his wife Brittany; sister, Courtney Duplantis; and nephews, Trae’lan Olivier, Darrien David, Carter David, Ahpace Bitely, and Braylan Broussard.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Doris Blanchard Duplantis; and his maternal grandparents, Gaston Dupuy and Gloria Flores.

Pallbearers will be Darrien David, Trae’lan Olivier, Dillon Hanks, Jake Segura, Shawn Domingues, and Mark Dupuy.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carter David, Braylan Broussard, Ahpace Bitely, Rockey Segura, Ellis Maturin, III, Johnny Joe Miller, and Joey Maturin.
