Jeanerette – A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Carolyn Alston Lyle, 81, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, January 30, 2026 at Calvary Pentecostal Church of Jeanerette with Pastor Joseph Adams officiating. Interment will follow at McFatter Cemetery in Dequincy, LA.
Visitation will be held at Calvary Pentecostal Church of Jeanerette on Thursday, January 29, 2026 beginning at 5:00PM until 8:00PM with a Service of Remembrance at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 30, 2026 beginning at 9:00AM until the time of the services.
A native of DeQuincy, LA and a longtime resident of Jeanerette LA, Carolyn Lyle entered into peaceful rest at 4:22AM on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Eastridge Rehabilitation Center.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful pastor’s wife. She found great joy in cooking, sewing, spending treasured time with her family, and lovingly planning and hosting church functions.
She lived as a godly Christian woman, leading by quiet example and unwavering faith. Carolyn was deeply loved and will be fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
She was a gifted and accomplished musician, proficient on the accordion, piano, organ, and fiddle, and faithfully used her talents by playing in church for most of her life.
Carolyn was a devoted pastor’s wife who faithfully served alongside her husband for more than 50 years. The family would like to acknowledge Lisa Charles, her caregiver for the last few years. Lisa went above and beyond expectations.
She is survived by her two daughters, Shaunda L. Chaddick and her husband Rev. Chad Chaddick of New Iberia and Roxie L. Guillotte and her husband Pastor Jerome Guillotte of Gulfport, MS; five grandchildren, Mallory Layne Chaddick, Cami C. Richardson and her husband Anthony, Morgan Chaddick and his wife Hannah, Grant Matthew Chaddick, and Gracie Claire Guillotte; seven great grandchildren; a sister Martha Nelle Winston and her husband Danny; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. A. L. Lyle; her parents, Emary and Frances May England Alston; a son, Marcus Anthony Lyle; and a brother, Bobby Alston.
Serving as pallbearers will be Morgan Chaddick, Grant Chaddick, Ashton Smith, Jason Pierce, Landon Pierce, and Luke Pierce.
Frioux Funeral Home of Jeanerette at 400 Provost St. (337)276-5151 will be handling the arrangements.
