Loreauville–A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Bruce M. Guidry, 71, on Friday; July 25, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Father Barry Crochet as Celebrant. A private family entombment will follow the service.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bruce Guidry — a devoted father, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and one-of-a-kind soul whose presence filled every room with warmth and energy.
Bruce lived a life rich in passion, laughter, and love. Whether he was scuba diving into the deep blue, spear fishing in quiet waters, or simply enjoying the serenity of a boat ride, the water was his sanctuary. He was never far from the outdoors and always close to the things that brought him joy. Bruce had a special love for the simple pleasures of life — especially a strong cup of good coffee and a weekend BBQ surrounded by family and friends. He was a man who found happiness in the moments that mattered most: watching his grandchildren play soccer and baseball, catching up with loved ones, and making memories that will last a lifetime.
Above all, Bruce was a dedicated father to his four children and a proud grandfather to his four grandchildren. His greatest joy was spending time with them, cheering them on from the sidelines, and sharing his love for life in every way he could. He was a hard worker, a dependable coworker, and a man who always kept himself busy — never idle, always involved, and endlessly giving of his time and heart. Bruce Guidry will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the love he gave. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion to the people and passions that defined his life. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Bruce is survived by his children Travis Guidry of Orlando, Fl., Chad Guidry and wife Heather of Prattville, Al., Brandi Guidry and fiancé James Hewell of New Iberia, Skyla Guidry, and fiancé Devin Perez of Abita Springs, La; grandchildren, Landyn Guidry, Paxtyn Guidry, John Allen Hewell, Charles “Charlie” Hewell; siblings, Linda G. Hebert, Nancy G. Dore,’ William “Billy” Guidry, Mary Guidry Guidry; former wives, Debra Oubre, and Linette Carlan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester, and Ida LeBlanc Guidry, and one brother, Mark Guidry.
