Lafayette - Funeral services will be conducted for Brenda J Guidry, age 75, on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Frioux Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at St Anne Cemetery in Youngsville.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 10:00 am. to time of service at 1:00 p.m.
Brenda Guidry passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Emile J. Guidry Jr., affectionately known as “Lou,” with whom she shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Brenda was a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, caring sister, and faithful friend. She was the heart of her family, always placing the needs of others before her own. Her kindness, strength, unwavering love, and gentle spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Brenda and Lou shared a beautiful love story that began when they met in New Orleans during his years as a trumpet player. Their marriage was built on faith, commitment, laughter, and unconditional love, leaving behind a legacy that will continue for generations.
She is survived by her children, Bryan and Charlene Guidry, Fay and Jason Rhymes, and Karen and Toby Walker; her grandchildren, Bryan Guidry II, Brennan Rhymes, Daniel Allemand, Ashleigh Walker, Jacob Rhymes, Lauryn Walker, Gino Guidry, and Diamond Guidry; her great-grandchildren, Amelie, Maysen, Elliot, Brynlee, Nalaylee, Luka, Ash, and Nio; her siblings, Scarlette and Mixson Napper, Karla Beth and Mark St. Ament, Deborah McGee, and Milton Granier II.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emile “Lou” Guidry; her parents, Milton and Betty McKenzie Granier; and her sister, Mary Knoblock.
Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Bryan Guidry, Bryan Guidry II, Gino Guidry, Jacob Rhymes, Brennan Rhymes, and Daniel Allemand.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Rhymes and Toby Walker.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Lamm Hospice for the exceptional care, kindness, and support shown to Brenda and her loved ones.
