Lafayette- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Barbara G. Romero, 71, will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Wednesday July 22, 2026 at 11:00AM with Fr. Michael Delcambre officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held at Frioux Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 8:00AM until time of services.

A resident of Broussard, Mrs. Barbara, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2026. She was a woman of deep faith whose devotion to God was the foundation of her life. She found great comfort in praying the rosary every day and was a devoted member of her church community. Her faith guided the kindness and generosity she showed to everyone she met. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, including working crossword puzzles, reading spiritual books, and decorating for the holidays. She had a special gift for making every season feel warm and welcoming, and creating cherished memories for those she loved. Above all, Mrs. Barbara will be remembered for her generous heart. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or share what she had with family and friends. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Joseph Romero of Broussard; her children, Lindsay Nicole Romero of Broussard and Colby Paul Romero and his wife Becky of Abbeville; and her grandchildren, Madelyn Sophy Romero, Cohen Paul Romero, and Ella Grace Romero.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawless Romero, and Nellie Champagne Guilbeaux.

Serving as pallbearers will be Colby Romero, Eli Sotelo, Gabe Sotelo, Malachi Sotelo, Jason Smith, and Joey Smith.
