Abbeville " A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Jim W. Nicholas, 85, who died at 3:30PM on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Kaplan Nursing Home. Mr. Nicholas a native of Oklahoma City, OK and a resident of Kaplan was known for his love to go fishing. He also served his country in the U.S. Army. He is survived by a daughter, Carol Nicholas of Houma; a son, Robert Nicholas of Erath; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Margie Harris Nicholas; his parents, Johnny and Hattie Belle Smith Nicholas; and two sons, Jimmy and Johnny Nicholas.
