Wade Placide Montet, Sr.

Maurice - Memorial Services will be conducted for Wade Placide Montet, Sr., 78, on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 10:00AM at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice with Father Joe Breaux officiating. Interment will follow at the Benoit Family Cemetery in Milton. A native and resident of Maurice, Mr. Montet died on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at his residence. He was a retired oil field drilling Consultant who had been employed with Stokes & Spiehler. Mr. Montet was a loving father, grandfather and brother who loved spending time with his family. Mr. Montet served his country in the Army during the Korean conflict. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Trahan Montet of Maurice; one daughter, Cathy M. Delcambre and her husband Marshal of Maurice; two sons, Wade P. Montet, Jr. of Maurice, and Phillip J. Montet and his wife Rana of Lafayette; one brother, Jerome Ste. Marie of Amelia; eleven grandchildren, Brett Delcambre, Seth Montet, Ashley Montet, Jessica Montet, Emily Montet, Ethan Delcambre, Mallory Montet, Julienne Montet, Austin Montet, Erin Montet, and Mason Montet. He was receded in death by his parents, Placide Montet and Felecia Breaux Montet; two sons, Roger Dale Montet, and Edward Dennis Montet; four brothers, Charles Montet, Ray Ste. Marie, Blaze Ste. Marie, and Russell Ste. Marie; and one sister, Irene Girouard. David Funeral Home of Abbeville, 2600 Charity Street, (337) 893-3777, is in charge of the arrangements.
