New Iberia " Mr. Adolf Deutschle died Saturday October 21, 2006 at 8:58PM at his residence in New Iberia. He is a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia. He was a building contractor for many years and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Survivors include his daughter, Matilde A. Smith and husband Cranston Doc Smith of New Iberia; granddaughters, Christina Smith FitzPatrick and husband Martin of Takoma Park, Maryland and Jennifer Smith Russo and husband Samuel of Lafayette, La.; and three great-grandchildren, Oliver FitzPatrick, Isabella and Anthony Russo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Duhe Deutschle; one son, Stephen Deutschle; his parents, Adolf Deutschle, Sr. and Gladys Bagarry Deutschle; and a sister, Gusie Bordelon. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
