Erath- Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2007 at 3:30 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath for Elodie Bares Frederick, 93. The Rev. Wayne Duet will conduct the funeral mass with burial to follow at LeBlanc Cemetery. The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday, April 12, 2007 from 5 PM till 9 PM and reopen Friday morning April 13, 2007 from 8 AM till time of service. A rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 7 PM at David Funeral Home in Erath. Ms. Elodie enjoyed her volunteer work at Abbeville General Hospital. She loved to sew and make baby clothes. She also enjoyed spending time with her flower garden. She was a devoted member of the Ladies Altar Society, the Catholic Daughters and the Erath Demonstration Club. She was especially dedicated to the work she did at the Bares Ranch for retarded children. She is survived by her daughters Betty Landry of Lafayette, and Mary Catherine Luquette and her husband Rick of Erath; her sons, Charles David Frederick and his wife Betty of Gross Isle, Joseph Rodney Frederick and his wife Sheryl of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, and Earl Louis Frederick and his wife Kathy of Erath; her brothers, Theo Bares of Youngsville, Theodore Bares of Erath, and Paul Bares of Erath; and her sisters, Margaret Bares of Erath, and Thomassin Bares of Erath. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edvay Frederick, her father Germaine Bares, her mother, Edolie Frederick Bares, her sister, Edith Bares, Irma Bares, her brothers, Edier Bares, Henry Bares, Edvard Bares, Pierre Barres, and Joseph Bares. Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Frederick, Carl Primeaux, Bryan Frederick, Todd Frederick, Kyle Luquette, Jonathan Harrington, Jared Harrington, Randy Abshire, and Tim LeBlanc.
