New Iberia-Private memorial service for Raymond Joseph Ponville, 71, will be held at a later date. Mr. Ponville died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 5:25AM at Iberia Medical Center. He is a loving father and grandfather who is known as a practical joker that loved to laugh, fish, play boure, and gamble. He is survived by his two daughters, Debra P. Guigneaux and her husband, Alvin Joseph Guigneaux, Jr., and Holly P. Johnson and her husband, Kevin Johnson, Sr. of New Iberia; a brother Rene Ponville, Jr. and his wife Betty Ponville of Abbeville; a sister Marie Louise Ponville of Abbeville; and four grandchildren, Aaron Gauthier, Javin DeRouen, Kiya Johnson, and Kevin Boutte of New Iberia. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Ponville; his father, Rene Ponville, Sr.; his mother, Belzire Smith Ponville; a brother, Edwin Ponville; and a grandchild, Arianna Boutte.
