New Iberia- Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Fils J. Guilbeau, age 71, at 11:00AM Wednesday July 22, 2009 at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Charles Langlois officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday July 21, 2009 from 11:00AM until 10:00PM and will resume Wednesday from 8:00AM until service time. A recitation of the Rosary will be Tuesday at 7:00PM.

Mr. Guilbeau died Sunday July 19, 2009 at 10:41AM in a local hospital. He retired as Postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service after 37 years of dedicated service. He was employed with Delaune's Pharmacy for almost 6 years. Mr. Guilbeaus greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Deanna Gachassin Guilbeau of New Iberia; his son, Charles Guilbeau and wife Angela of New Iberia; his daughters, Patricia Ann Guilbeau of Baton Rouge and Christine Guilbeau of New Iberia; brothers, Paul Guilbeau and Sydney Guilbeau both of New Iberia; sister, Lillian Dugas of Grand Chenier, La.; his grandchildren, Alison Jenkins, Hailey Harper, and Cadin Guilbeau; and great-grandchildren, Jayden Jenkins and Arianna Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fils Guilbeau and Lelia Bourque Guilbeau; brothers, Travis Guilbeau, Henry Guilbeau, and Emile Dob Guilbeau; sisters, Electa Granger and Mary Deslatte; grandchild, Payten Guilbeau; great-grandchild, Dayvon Green; and sister-in-laws, Margaret Guilbeau and Brenda Ronsonet.

Pallbearers will be Shane Guilbeau, Keith Guilbeau, Beau Guillot, Rodney Dugas, Hilton Dugas, and Glen Guilbeau.
