New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Fred Borel, 68, on Saturday, Mar. 18, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mr. George Sikes officiating. A native of St. Martinville, LA and a resident of New Iberia, LA, Mr. Borel died on Thursday, Mar. 16, 2006 at 1:29 PM upon arrival at Lafayette General Medical Center. Mr. Borel was a retired welder, served in the US Navy and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home in New Iberia beginning on Saturday, Mar. 18, 206 at 9:00 AM till services. A rosary will be prayed prior to the services. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Lege Borel; his daughter, Arlene B. Romero and her husband Wayne; her sons, Steven Borel and his wife Monica, David Borel and his wife Danette all of New Iberia, LA; his brother, Clifton Borel of Starksville, Miss.; his sisters, Theresa Mouton and her husband Eugene, Shorty Gary and her husband Asee, his grandsons, Jeffery Landry, Joey Landry, Wayne T-Boy Romero, Jr., Brock Morien, Blake Morien; his granddaughter, Danielle Ball; and great grandsons, Justin Morien and Hunter J. Ball all of New Iberia, LA. He is preceeded in death by his parents: Alfred Borel and Lydia Latiolais Borel. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
