New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Curlis J. Mallet, 79, the former Edith Marie Edie Landry on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Steve LeBlanc officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum in Erath.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and resume on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Mallet was also a former resident of Houston, Texas. Mrs. Mallet died on Monday, May 21, 2007 at 5:30 AM in a local nursing home. She was a former hairdresser and worked for Wm B. Jones and Abdallas Department Store. She loved bowling and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Curlis J. Curley Mallet of New Iberia; her son, William T. Porter of Pasadena, TX and her step-son, Ronald J. Mallet and his wife Betty Jane of New Iberia. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John L. Landry, Jr. and Eva Gonzales Landry; her daughter, Corliss Denise Mallet and her brothers, Antoine Tony Landry, John L. Landry, Jr., Walter P. Landry, Wilbert M. Willie Landry and Raymond Landry.

Pallbearers will be Ron Mallet, Beau Mallet, David Mallet, Ronnie Mallet, Nelson J. Simon, Jr. and William M. Landry.
