Erath- A Mass of Christian Burial for Melvin Goldberg Lachaussee, 71, will be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 3:00PM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church withFr. Wayne Duet officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, April 20, 2007 from 8:00AM until time of services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.

Mr. Lachaussee, a native and resident of Erath, died on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 6:40AM at his residence. He enjoyed his life and his family. He also liked horse racing and card playing.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Domingues Lachaussee of Erath; three daughters, Phyllis Lachaussee of Erath, Dana Dronet and her husband Jody of Erath, and Fran LeBlanc and her husband Shawn of Erath; six grandchildren, Anthony Dronet, Jonathan Dronet, Megan Dronet, Olivia LeBlanc, Lane LeBlanc, and one baby girl soon to arrive; a brother, Harold Lachaussee and his wife Margaret of Mermentau; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Clerce Lachaussee; and his mother, Etta Bodin Lachaussee.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Dronet, Jonathan Dronet, Michael Lachaussee, Bill Lachaussee, Doug Lachaussee, and Robert "T-Bob" Domingues.

Honorary pallbearers will be Megan Dronet, Olivia LeBlanc, and Lane Leblanc.

David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling arrangements.
