New Iberia " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Gabriel J. Delcambre the former Electa Rose Picard, Age 86, will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 11:00AM Wednesday May 9, 2007 with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home in New Iberia from 1:00PM to 8:00PM Tuesday May 8, 2007 with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM and again Wednesday May 9, 2007 from 8:00AM till time of services. A native of Youngsville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Delcambre died at 10:30PM on Friday May 4, 2007 in a Lafayette long-term acute care facility (LTAC). She loved God and family. She was especially concerned about the physical, emotional and spiritual health of the little ones in the family. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, crocheting, bowling, listening to and dancing to French music, playing cards with family and friends and going to the casino. She will be missed by all who loved her. Rest in peace Granny . Survivors include one son; Nolan Adam Delcambre and his wife Pat, one daughter; Mary Rose Delcambre Herring; three granddaughters; Katherine Delcambre, Tina H. Baudoin and Debbie H. Tewell, five great-grandchildren; Jennifer H. Dore, Joshua Cain Boudoin, Gabriel Boudoin, Stephanie Rose Shelton and Joey Shelton, Five great-great-grandchildren; Adragon Rose Briley, Eden Rose Dore, Evening Rose Dore, Joseph Boudoin and Joshua Lee Boudoin, her brothers; Dudley Picard and his wife Audrey and Jimmy Picard and his wife Nat, her sister-in-laws; Ethel Picard, widow of Leroy Picard and Mabel Picard, widow of Roland Picard, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband; Gabriel J. Delcambre, her baby son; Gerald J. Delcambre, her parents; Emerite Romero Picard and Duplesis Picard, her sisters; Eunice P. Poirrier, Marie Louise P. LeBlanc, Rose Mae P. Theriot and Teresa P. Domingues, her brothers; Roland Picard, Sr. and Leroy Picard and her brother-in-laws Whitney Poirrier, Randolph LeBlanc, Julius Joe Theriot and Villey Sleepy Domingues. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Picard, Billy Bouton, Randy Elias, Ronnie Delcambre, Bobby Delcambre and David Delcambre. Honorary pallbearers will be Dudley Picard, Joshua Boudoin, Gabriel Boudoin, Joey Shelton, Bobby Bouton, Galen Delcambre, Jesse Dore, Scott Shelton, Chris Briley and Wilton Doody Boudoin, Jr. David Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
