Jeanerette " Funeral Services for Joshua Blaine Derise, 25, will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Calvary Pentecostal Church with Rev. Harlan Morgan officiating.

Visitation will be at Calvary Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a Service of Remembrance at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Calvary Pentecostal Cemetery.

A native and resident of Jeanerette Josh died at 1:52AM on Monday, August 10, 2009 at his residence. He was an avid Saints Football Fan; he enjoyed entertaining people,being with his family, writing, and the word of God. Josh was a peacemaker, always encouraging everyone to work out his or her differences. Joshua fought a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis during which time he survived a double lung transplant then a single lung transplant. His courage was amazing in that no matter how low his illness brought him, he was always concerned about others. Josh was an over comer.

He is survived by his parents, Ivy Jean Pitre of Jeanerette and Dwight Derise of Broussard; his wife, Rachel Langley Derise of Houston, MS; a brother, Jordan Derise of Jeanerette; Paternal grandparents, Paulfrey and Janelle Derise of Jeanerette; maternal grandmother, Doris Pitre of Columbus, MS; paternal great grandparents, Orgnell and Delta Mae Borel of Jeanerette; three uncles, Derwood and his wife Lisa Derise of Lydia, Dwayne and his wife Jan Derise of Lydia, and Kevin and his wife Virginia Pitre of Macon, MS; and an aunt, Sandy Pitre of Columbus, MS.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Rachael Renee Derise; maternal grandfather, Leon Pitre, Jr.; and an uncle, Dennis Pitre.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jordan Derise, John Leon Pitre, David Istre, Daniel Rousseau, Damon LeBlanc, and Blake Derise.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Heard, Brad Guy, Dwayne Derise, Derwood Derise, Amanda Guy, Melinda Heard, and Danielle Pitre.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia at 1101 Trotter St. (337) 369-6336 will be handling the arrangement.
