New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Kenneth Ray Dautch Dautreuil, Sr., 72, on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on the Teche with Msgr. Richard Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 1982 of New Iberia.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM until 10:00 PM and resume on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 PM.

A native of Jennings and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Dautreuil died on Monday, Jan. 21, 2008 at 11:05 AM in a New Iberia hospital. He retired as a Captain with the New Iberia Fire Department and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Air Force. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, a cabinetmaker and a gun and knife collector. He was a member of the New Iberia Homing Pigeon Racing Club.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley David Dautreuil of New Iberia; his daughters, Paula D. Arceneaux and her husband James, Melanie D. Romero and her husband Larry both of New Iberia and Eva D. Sonnier and her husband Phillip of Erath; his son, Sgt. Kenneth Ray Dautreuil, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Abilene, TX; his brother, Davis Paul Dautreuil, Jr. of New Iberia; his sister, Julie Dautreuil Morgan of New Iberia; his grandchildren, Ellie A. Rouly and her husband Karl of Franklin, Zechariah James Arceneaux of New Iberia, Lacey R. Mestayer and her husband Terry of Loreauville, Katie L. Romero of New Orleans, Leslie A. Romero of New Iberia, Bonnie Hippler of Erath, Ben and Kevin Hippler both of New Iberia, Rebecca D. Whatley and her husband Eric of Bossier City, Kenneth Ray Dautreuil, III, Christopher Dautreuil and Paul Dautreuil all of Abilene, TX; his step-grandchildren, Donald and Brandon Lovell both of Abilene, TX; his great grandchildren, Mason Whatley and Abigail Whatley both of Bossier City, Andrea Gail Mestayer and Clay Michael Mestayer both of Loreauville, Karrigan Rouly of Franklin and Audrey Hippler of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Davis Paul Dautreuil, Sr. and Eva Viola Coots, his daughter, Cindy Lee Dautreuil, his brothers, Calvin Dale and Richard Wayne Dautreuil.

Pallbearers will be Ben Hippler, Zechariah Arceneaux, James Arceneaux, Larry Romero, Kenneth Dautreuil, Jr. and Phillip Sonnier.
