New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Fred C. DeBlanc, the former Lorance "Belle" Andre, 100, Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at 10:00 AM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Charles Langlois, Pastor of St. Peters Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007 at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resume on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at 8:00 AM until services.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. DeBlanc died on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 at 2:30 PM in a New Iberia nursing home. Born on Sept. 5, 1906, Mrs. DeBlanc was looking forward to celebrating her 101st birthday. She loved sewing, cooking and quilting.
She is survived by her son, Robert Fredric DeBlanc and his wife Olive; son-in-law, Gene Faulk, Sr. all of New Iberia; grandsons, Gene Faulk, Jr. of Austin, TX, Keith DeBlanc of Belleville, IL and Andy DeBlanc of Hutchinson, KS and granddaughters, Cathy Reaves of New Iberia and Laura DeBlanc of Tega Cay, SC. She was also survived by eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. DeBlanc; parents, Gaston Andre and Melvina Bourque Andre; daughter, Barbara D. Faulk; brothers, James, Louis and Gaston Andre and sisters, Eloise Hebert, Louise Decuir and Anita Parro.
Pallbearers will be Keith DeBlanc, Gene Faulk, Jr., Andy DeBlanc, Charles Kern, Jr., Byron Kern and Huey Kern.
