Loving father and grandfather JEANERETTE " A Mass of Christian Burial for David Dave Louviere, Sr., 85, will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 1, 2007 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Jeanerette with Father Jody Simoneaux officiating. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Friday, August 31, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM at David Funeral Home in Jeanerette. Visitation will resume Saturday, September 1, 2007 from 8:00AM until the time of services. A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Louviere died at 3:32 PM Wednesday, August 29, 2007, in a New Iberia hospital. Mr. Louviere was a sugar cane farmer with Louviere Farms for 50 years. He was a member of Woodmen of the World. He was an avid gardener and also loved to pick pecans. He is survived by his sons, David Louviere Jr. and wife Patrice of New Iberia, Tommy Louviere of Jeanerette, and Randy Louviere and wife Anne of New Iberia; daughters, Trudy Watson and husband Jimmy of Rio Hondo, Texas, and Sandra Broussard and husband Philip of Jeanerette; a brother, Roy Louviere and wife Eunice of Texas; a sister, Rita Lancon of Jeanerette; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Louviere was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hebert Louviere; parents, Eli and Constance Derise Louviere; a sister, Mary Mire; and brothers, Charles and Dennis Louviere. Pallbearers will be Randy Louviere, David Louviere Jr., Tommy Louviere, Matthew David Louviere, Lionel Lancon and Courtney Jolet. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Louviere and Brian Broussard.
