New Iberia"Funeral services for Mrs. John Bryan Watts, Jr., the former Jackie Carole Miller, 65, will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. in David Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Scott Bullock will officiate. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from 4:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Watts passed away on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 2:17 P.M. in a New Iberia hospital.

A native of Cameron, Mrs. Watts was a graduate of South Cameron High School. Having lived in New Iberia for over 40 years, she was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. She has cared for her parents, who were relocated to New Iberia from Cameron due to Hurricane Rita in 2005. Mrs. Watts enjoyed dancing and listening to Cajun music, but her greatest joy was caring for her grandchildren, driving them to school, and cooking breakfast for them.

Survivors include her husband, John Bryan Butch Watts, Jr. of New Iberia; parents, Fletcher J. and Bonnie Doxey Miller of New Iberia; sons, Bryan Fletcher Watts of New Iberia and Gannon Joe Watts and wife, Julie of New Iberia; grandchildren, Zoe Alexandra Watts and Avery Aaren Watts of Dallas, TX, and John Cole Watts and Laura Grace Gracie Watts of New Iberia; sister, Donna LaBove of Cameron; brothers, J.A. Miller and wife, Ruby of Lake Charles and Wade Miller and wife, Kathy of Moss Bluff; mother-in-law, Oleta Roux Watts of Houston, TX; cousins, Laura Bonner of Houston, TX, Roland James Roux and wife, Tammy of Lake Charles, and Kenneth Joseph Roux, Jr. and wife, Carrie of Houston, TX; brother-in-law, James Clavin Watts and wife, Olga of Lake Charles; nephews, James Russell Watts of Lake Charles, Gabe LaLande and John Jay LaBove of Cameron, and Joey and Jonathon Miller of Moss Bluff; nieces, Selika Eggloff of Yuma, AZ and Chris Mooney of Cameron; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Serving as pallbearers are Roland James Roux, Caleb Roux, Gabe LaLande, John Jay LaBove, Jonathon Miller, and John Cole Watts. Names as honorary pallbearers are O.K. Dozier and James Watts.
