LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, AND GRANDMOTHER

New Iberia"A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Michael W. Meyers, the former Dora Romero, 56, will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Reverend Mark Derise will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28, 2008 from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in David Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Meyers passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 9:55 A.M. in a Franklin hospital.

A native of Erath and longtime resident of Avery Island, Mrs. Meyers was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to the casino, dancing, and meeting new people. Mrs. Meyers was an outgoing person who never met a stranger. She loved to cook for her kids, and her greatest joy in life was being with and caring for her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Michael W. Meyers of Avery Island; daughters, Rachel Meyers Sharpe and husband, Todd of Prairieville and Michelle Meyers Stevens and husband, David of New Iberia; son, Brian M. Meyers and wife, Kim of Coteau; sisters, Irene Romero Bishop of Lafayette and Glenda Romero Lopez and husband, Chuck of New Iberia; and grandchildren, Dusty J. Meyers, Tyler M. Sharpe, Abbey P. Meyers, and Kaylee N. Sharpe. She is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Meyers in death were her parents, Clarence J. and Clara Derouen Romero; sister, Margaret Louise Brantley; and brothers, Dudley J. Romero and Ridley J. Romero.

Serving as pallbearers Todd Sharpe, David Stevens, Derrick Bentley, Dean Bentley, Keith Romero, and Troy Romero. Named as honorary pallbearers are Dusty Meyers, and Tyler Sharpe.

David Funeral Home of New Iberia, 1101 Trotter Street, 369-6336 is in charge of arrangements.
