Lafayette " Funeral services for Dr. George P. Katter, 78 years old, of Youngsville, La., will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, August 4, 2007 at St. Annes Catholic Church, Youngsville, La, with Father Floyd Calais officiating. Dr. Katter died Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at Lafayette General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Friday, August, 3, 2007 from 10:00AM until 10:00PM with a Rosary prayed at 7:00PM at David Funeral Chapel in Lafayette. Dr. Katter was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Moses and Selma Farage Katter. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, served four years in the U.S. Navy, trained at the Great Lakes Naval Training School in Chicago, Illinois and stationed at the Naval Base at Astoria, Oregon. He was a graduate of Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, Iowa, did graduate work in Indianapolis and Chicago. He practiced in Chicago, Illinois, Oak Park, Illinois, Fort Wayne, Indiana and New Iberia, Louisiana for many years. He was a resident of Youngsville, Louisiana for twenty-six Years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dr. Joseph Katter of Lafayette, Louisiana and William Katter of LaGrange, Georgia. Dr. Katter is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Brenda Foreman Katter, two daughters; Dr. Terese Naser and her husband Jim of Glastonbury, Conn. and Laura Katter of Chicago, Illionis; two sons, George Katter of Chicago, Illinois and Michael Katter of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Yolanda Katter Jabaley of LaGrange, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Mary Katter of Lafayette, Louisiana and Patricia Katter of LaGrange, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews. He was an active member of St. Annes Catholic Church, American Legion and the Chiropractic Association of Louisiana, Baton Rouge. Dr. Katter was a loving husband and father, beloved brother, loyal friend and devoted Chiropractic Practioner to his many patients. He will be sadly missed by all. The Honorary Pallbearers will be his nephews. Condolences may be sent to the Katter Family at 224 Maureen Drive, Youngsville, Louisiana, 70592.
