Abbeville " Funeral Services for Wilbert Alcide Schexnider, 80, will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the David Funeral Home Chapel of Abbeville with Pastor Jimmy Richard officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville, on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 from 10:00AM until the time of Service. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery
Mr. Schexnider a native of Guedyan and a resident of Abbeville died at 3:10PM on Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Abbeville General Hospital. He served his country in the U. S. Army; and was a supervisor for the Abbeville Water & Sewer Department for over 16 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Meaux Schexnider of Abbeville; three sons, Roger Dale Schexnider of Beaumont, Texas, Johnny Duhon, Jr. of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Jerry Wayne Schexnider of Columbia, Mississippi; a daughter Kathy Hock of League City, Texas; two brothers, Robert Schexnider of Abbeville, and Lester Paul Schexnider of Erath; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Schexnider, Sr. and Philomie Meaux Schexnider; and a brother Frank Schexnider, Jr.
David Funeral Home of Abbeville will be handling the arrangements.
