Lafayette- A Memorial Service will be held for Russell Gauthier, 54, at David Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 5:00PM. Visitation will begin on Wednesday November 14, 2007 at 4:00PM until time of service. Mr. Gauthier, a native of DeRidder and a resident of Youngsville, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 6:00PM. Russell was a great man, loyal friend, loving son and devoted husband. He had a full life he enjoyed. His many hobbies and talents included photography, costmotogly, acting and singing. He was a very gifted artist. He preformed in many plays as a student and young adult in Houston. Because of his acting ability Russell was invited to New York to preform there. While pleased and honored to be invited, his main focus was caring for his mother and wife. While employed at Dillard's as a make-up artist, he made beauties of young ladies for their proms. Russell accomplished everything he tried in his time with people he loved. Russell was caring, honest, quick-witted, make you laugh when you were at your lowest and that alone was the reason his friends and co-workers respected him. He made people comfortable, accepted them as they were, without trying to change anyone. He is survived by his wife, Jane Chapman Gauthier; mother, Evelyn Dore Gauthier; brother, Robert Gauthier and his wife Jenny; nieces, Michelle, Patricia and Melissa; nephews, Bobby and Johnny. His four-legged friends; Poppy (his dog), Weiner and Andy (his cats) and his feathered friend Coco ( his parrot). He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Gauthier, Jr. The family would like to give special thanks to Rick Chapman, Fred Jameson, Bruno and Beth Massimiani, Mike Naylor, Lynne Guy, Keith Caillouet, Brenda Henry, Barbara Delaney, Cindy and Libby Richard, ICU Staff at University Medical Center and Jimmy Janka. David Funeral Home of Lafayette will be handling arrangements.
