FRANKLIN " Memorial services for Thomas Tom E. Kelly, 69, will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness in Franklin. A second Memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witness in Vinton, LA. A native of Orange, Texas and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Kelly died at 12:50 AM Friday, October 26, 2007, in a New Iberia hospital. Mr. Kelly was around boats all of his life and his hobby was shrimping. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed taking them shrimping and fishing. He was the owner of Kellys Maine Repair. Tom was a partner in multiple shipyard businesses dealing with new construction and repair. Tom was a commissioner on the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries for six years. He was a great lover of the outdoors. He also served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Pat Moreland Kelly of Jeanerette; two sons, Wayne Kelly of Splendora, Texas, and Tom Tharp of New Iberia; daughters, Teri Tharp and husband Chris of Denham Springs, and Bethany Guidroz of Deridder; three sisters, Melba Bond of Vinton, Sandra Lormand and husband Bobby of Westlake, and Nancy Haynes and husband Ronnie of Opelousas; grandchildren, Jordan, Shayla and Brock Kelly, all of Splendora, Texas, Nick and Colin Tharp, both of New Iberia, Lucky Guidroz and wife Tavia and Shaunda Guidroz, all of Deridder; a special daughter-in-law, Rachel Hope of New Iberia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts. Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Domas and Flavia Ashley Kelly. David Funeral Home of Jeanerette, 400 Provost Street, (337) 276-5151, is in charge of the arrangements.
