"Loving mother and grandmother" A native of Franklinton and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Thomas Haven, the former Mavis Tandy Strahan, 86, died at 4:29 AM Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Iberia Medical Center. She is survived by her daughters, Paulette Comeaux and husband Wayne of New Iberia, and Linda Metzel and husband Anthony of New Iberia; sister, Mae Ballard of Holden; grandchildren, Kandise France and husband Noel of Charenton, Gabe Boutte and companion Abby Raspberry of New Iberia, Jacques Boutte of Lafayette, Brandon Metzel and wife Mhairi of New Iberia, and Spring Metzel of New Iberia; and great-grandchildren, Kaleb France of Pitken, Nathaniel France of Charenton, Hayden Boutte, Blake Frioux, Shannah, Hunter, Amber and Connor Metzel, all of New Iberia. Mrs. Haven was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Haven; and parents, John Newie Strahan and Hermie Strahan Strahan.
