Abbeville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Ulysse Joe Gayneaux, Jr., the former Simonia Dobie Romero, 77, was held at 12:30PM on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Fr. Glenn Meaux officiated the services. Visitation was held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 11:00AM until services. Burial took place at Landry Cemetery in Henry. A native of Youngsville and a resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Gayneaux passed away at 5:00PM on Friday, November 21, 2008 at a local hospital. She is survived by her husband, Ulysse Joe Gayneaux, Jr.; her sons, Kiefferd Gayneaux and his wife, Debbie of Henry, Kenneth Gayneaux and his wife, Elidia of Henry, and Kelly Gayneaux and his wife, Lisa of Beaumont, TX; brothers, Adam Romero of Vidor, TX, Perry Romero of Jennings, and Fred Romero of Henry; sister, Lydia Luquette of Branch; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simonette and Clemence Authement Romero and her other siblings. David Funeral Home of Abbeville, 2600 Charity Street, (337) 893-3777, was in charge of arrangements.
