Erath " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Edwin R. Landry, the former Rita David, 89 on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Daniel Besse officiating. Interment will follow in the Migues Cemetery in Delcambre. Visitation began on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 4:30 PM until 8:30 PM and resumed on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 8:00 AM until services. A rosary was prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 6:30 PM. A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Erath, Mrs. Landry died on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 8:50 PM in an Abbeville hospital. Mrs. Landry was a homemaker, volunteered at local nursing homes and took care of many children. She loved gardening, was an immaculate housekeeper and a great cook. She is survived by her grandchildren, Shannon Landry Broll of Houston, TX and Jeffery David Landry of San Antonio, TX ; her great grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Broll and Harrison Strake Broll both of Houston, TX. and her ½ sister, Ella May Turner of Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin R. Landry; her parents, Leonce David, Sr. and Eliza Bourque David; her son, Leo John Landry; her brothers, Leonce David, Jr., Ono David, Clement David, Rueben David and Chester David.
