Barbara Grinsted Dore

New Iberia " Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs. Allen J. Dore, the former Barbara Grinsted, 73, at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 19, 2010 in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Father Mark Derise officiating. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM and a rosary will be recited in the funeral home at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 8:00 AM until services. A native of Orange, TX and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dore died on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 3:38 PM in a local hospital. She was employed as a Secretary for the New Iberia Police Department for 37 years in the Detective and Juvenile Divisions. She was a former member of the Jaycee Janes. She was a member of the Krewe of Iberians and Krewe of Andelusia and a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Allen J. Dore and her daughter, Cheryl Ann Dore of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Tellie Clements Grinsted. Pallbearers will be Danny Dore, Tommy Dore, Jason Short, Steve Viator, Gerald Viator and Ronnie Broussard. Honorary pallbearer will be James Bott.
