New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. M. James Comeaux the former Shirley Peltier, Age 74, at 2:00 PMSaturday, February 7, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Richard Green officiating. Interment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, February 6, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume Saturday from 8:00 AM until service time.

A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia Mrs. Comeaux died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at 3:30 PM in a local health care facility. She enjoyed cooking for her family and entertaining her friends. She also loved going to the casino.

Survivors include her children, Debbie C. White and companion Richard Boutte and Tami Durke Ugland and husband Wade all of New Iberia, Tina Broussard and husband Jude of Youngsville and James Comeaux, Sr. and wife Karen of New Orleans; two sisters, Doris P. Ellender and Diane P. Davis and husband Robert all of Broussard; grandchildren, Charlie White, Jr. and companion Tari Barras of New Iberia, Beau White of Broussard, Allyson and Blair Durke both of Lafayette, Brooke L. Sokol and husband Scott of New Iberia, Raven L. Serio and husband Chris of Broussard, Jimmy Comeaux, Jr. and wife Michelle of Dallas, Texas and Brad Comeaux and wife Alison of New Orleans; great grandchildren, Jadon and Torin Comeaux of Dallas, Texas and Alexandra Comeaux of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, M. James Comeaux; parents, Dolze and Louise Bourque Peltier; one brother, Roy Peltier and a brother-in-law, Shirley Ellender.

Pallbearers will be Charlie White, Jr., Beau White, Jimmy Comeaux, Jr., Brad Comeaux, Jude Broussard and Wade Ugland. James Comeaux, Sr. will serve as honorary pallbearer.
