Jeanerette " Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Karl A. Fortier, the former Rose Thibeaux, Age 92, at 11:00AM Monday, January 26, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday January 25, 2009 from 2:00PM until 4:00Pm and again Monday from 9:00AM until service time.
A native and lifelong resident of Jeanerette Mrs. Fortier died Friday January 23, 2009 at 7:20AM at her residence.
Survivors include her husband Karl A. Fortier of Jeanerette, three daughters; Camille F. Lapeyrouse and husband J.P. of Jeanerette, Susan F. Landry and Jennifer F. LeBlanc and husband Daniel all of Lafayette and one son; Karl A. Tony Fortier and wife Gretchen of Jeanerette, grandchildren; David and Michael Lapeyrouse,Jeanne L. Clement, Stephen K. and Eric L. Landry, Martin and John Arceneaux and Karl A. Fortier III, Nicole B.Munnerlyn,and Butch Bergerongreat grandchildren; Juliette and Marielle Lapeyrouse, Kyle Clement, Laurel and Nicholas Olguin, Heather Rose, Taylor, Thomas,Luke Landry, Madison Catone,Dylan Pride and Alec Arceneaux,one brother; Paul S. Thibeaux of Jeanerette and one sister; Sister Mary Celeste R.S.M. of New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her parents; Simeon and Elmina Gravel Thibeaux, five brothers; Louis, Simeon, Camille, Bernard and Jerome Thibeaux and three sisters; Sister Mary Madeline R.S.M., Celeste Thibeaux and Marcelle T. Olivier.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren and an honorary pallbearer will be her brother; Paul S. Thibeaux.
Memorials preferred to Hospice of Acadiana or the charity of one's choice.
