Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Loreauville " Funeral Services will be conducted for Roger Antoine Vicknair, Age 75, at 3:00PM Thursday, January 29, 2009 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Loreauville with Father Austin Leger officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of The Lake Mausoleum in Catahoula. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 Noon until 10:00PM with a Rosary being prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will resume Thursday from 8:00AM until time of service. A native Catahoula and a longtime resident of Loreauville, Mr. Vicknair was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the U.S. Army. He loved trapping and fishing. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. They were a big part of his life. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Bergeron Vicknair of Loreauville; two daughters, Debbie V. Latiolais and husband James of Catahoula and Karen Finn and husband Christopher of Lafayette; two sons, Michael Vicknair and wife Victoria of Coteau and Terry Vicknair and wife Pamela of Coteau Holmes; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Exzile Bourque Vicknair; three sisters, Enola Latiolais, Sally Angelle and Mary Olivier and one brother, Ronald Vicknair. Pallbearers will be Michael, Terry and John Vicknair, James Latiolais, Christopher Finn and Christopher Robicheaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Vicknair, Jesse Latiolais, Brandon and Triston Thibeaux and Ronald Vicknair SR. David Funeral Home, 118 Main St, New Iberia, La.
