Nita Babineaux Dubois

Mrs. Dubois, a native of Henry, and a resident of Abbeville, passed away at 1:26AM on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Maison du Monde Living Center. Mrs. Dubois was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who loved spending time with her family. Nita was the owner of Nitas Grocery and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Ann Richard and her husband Dale of Kaplan; three grandchildren, Stacey Marie Bint and her husband Andrew of Baton Rouge, Nicholas Ryan Richard and his wife Jennifer of Prairieville, and Scott Dale Richard and his wife Holly of Prairieville; two great grandchildren, Preston Richard and Reagan Richard of Prairieville; one brother, Wilfred Babineaux of Abbeville; two sisters, Rita Hebert of Gonzales, and Beulah Strain of New Orleans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Dubois; her parents, Ophelias Babineaux and Elsie Simoneaux Babineaux; two brothers, Otis Babineaux and Otto Babineaux; and one sister, Eloise Broussard.

The family would like to thank Maison du Monde, along with the nurses, aides, and staff as well as Southern Care Hospice, with a special thanks to Delana, Rachael, Ann, Jackie, and Lashanda.
