Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial for Lennard Joe Dubois, 80, will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Louis Richard officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Dubois, a native of Broussard and resident of Lafayette, died at 5:15PM on Monday, April 12, 2010 at a Lafayette General Medical Center. Mr. Joe served his country proudly in the US Army during the Korean Conflict; was a Lafayette Parish School Bus driver for over 30 years; worked for General Adjustment Bureau as an insurance adjuster, and was also employed with Maloney - Crawford; the past president of Woodmen of the World; and a greeter and usher at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was also known for his enjoyment of hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Melba Miller Dubois of Lafayette; a son, Patrick Dubois and his wife Pamela of Broussard; and daughter, Janice D. Watkins and her husband Terry of Conyers, GA; three grandchildren, Jacques Dubois, Jonathan Dubois, and Jamie Watkins and his wife Julie; two great grandchildren, Katie Watkins and Kiersten Watkins; and a nephew, David Dugas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Rosie Duhon Dubois; and a sister, Grace Dugas. Serving as pallbearers will be Jacques Dubois, Jonathan Dubois, Terry Watkins, Jamie Watkins, David Dugas, and Allen Miller. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Eugene Garber, Bill Miller, Ned Girouard, and Henry Langlinais David Funeral Home of Lafayette at 316 Youngsville Hwy., (337)837-9887, will be handling the arrangements.
