Coteau-A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Joseph E. Romero the former Euphemie Meme Theriot, 75, will be held 11:00AM on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Crochet officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday, September 3, 2010 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum. Mrs. Romero a native of Milton and a resident of Coteau died at 1:45AM on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at a Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Ladies Alter Society of Coteau; A religion teacher for many years at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church; Devoted to the Catholic religion; never hesitated or wavered in her faith; was one of many church cleaners at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church; a member of the New Iberia Senior High Band Booster Club. She worked the concession stand and walked every parade in which Sharon performed; worked in the concession stand every summer when her children played baseball for Family Night for the church; and she loved her pokeno club. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Joseph E. Romero of Coteau; two sons, Richard Romero and his wife Jeanelle of Coteau and John Romero and his wife Christine of Coteau; three daughters, Wanda Romero Boudreaux and her husband Merlen of Youngsville, Karen Romero Harrison and her husband J.R. of League City, TX, and Sharon Romero Boudreaux and her husband Heath of Coteau; a sister, Betty Hollier of Milton; twenty grandchildren, Ceretha Gros, Dalton D.J. Duhon, Jr., Heather Robino, Kara Arceneaux, Jacob Romero, Jason Romero, Justin Romero, Tyler Romero, Christopher Romero, Ashley Boudreaux, Alex Boudreaux, Daphine Boudreaux, Kim Mouton, Lance Romero, Sonia Kay, Jason Romero, Tiffany LeRette, Jonathan Graham, Gabriella Harrison and Andrew Harrison; twenty-four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Mae Dell Baudion Theriot; two brothers, Huey Theriot and Norman Theriot. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, D.J. Duhon, Jason Romero, Jacob Romero, Justin Romero, Christopher Romero and Tyler Romero. Honorary Pallbearers will be Alex Boudreaux, Heather Robino, Ceretha Gros, Kara Arceneaux and Ashley Boudreaux.
