New Iberia " Funeral Services will be conducted for Richard "Nonk" Walker, Sr. Age 62, at 2:00PM, Monday April 19, 2010 at Beau Pre Mausoleum Chapel in Jeanerette with Deacon Chris Doumit officiating. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. Visitation will be Monday April 19, 2010 from 10:30AM until service time at David Funeral Home in New Iberia. A native of, longtime resident of Jeanerette and resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Walker died Friday April 16, 2010 at 2:30PM in a Lafayette health care facility. Mr. Walker was a maintenance repair technician II for ULLs Iberia Research Facility. He was an avid hunter who also enjoyed working on small engines. He is survived by eight children, Richard Walker, Jr. and wife Lisa, Melissa Walker Rogers and husband Joey, Timothy Paul Walker and Zina Dore and husband Eric all of St. Martinville, Todd Anthony Walker and wife Kim of Breaux Bridge, Maurice Rodrigue and wife Vickie of Jeanerette, Mary Landry of Franklin and Ramona Collins of New Iberia; brothers, Donald Walker of New Iberia, Michael Walker of Lafayette and Wilton Walker of Covington; sisters, Wanda Walker and Pam Landry both of New Iberia; 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Walker; parents, Mitchel and Grace Moore Walker and a brother, Clayton Walker. Pallbearers will be Todd, Timothy and Wilton Walker, Maurice and Tevin Rodrigue and Terry Capritto. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky and Brandon Walker.
