Broussard " A Memorial Service for Mrs. Joyce Baronet Walker, 81, will be held at 1:30PM on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Louis Richard officiating. The family and friends will begin gathering at the church at 12:30PM. A native of Rayne and a resident of Broussard, Mrs. Walker died on Sunday, January 17, 2010 in Broussard. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Mayer of Broken Arrow, OK; and three step daughters, Elsie Walker Austin, Nancy Walker Maraist, and Judy Walker Bruno, all of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abel Joseph Walker; and her parents, Prosper and Loretta LeBlanc Baronet. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joyces memory to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, attn: Donor Services, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309, or to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
