Erath " A Mass of Christian Burial for Laura Mae LeBlanc Romero, 87, will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Broussard officiating, and Christina Franques and Brooke LeBlanc as readers. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 6:00PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, April 23, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum. Born on January 14, 1923 and died April 21, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital at 9:45AM, Laura Mae lived her life in the LeBlanc Community where she sewed handmade baby clothes. She was such a talented lady and sewed hundreds of Christening gowns, bonnets and various baby clothes for families generation after generation. She made a beautiful engagement dress for her only granddaughter, Christy Ortemond Franques which was featured in a Sew Beautiful magazine publication. She was so proud of Christy as well as her four grandsons. She enjoyed the last four years of her life at Maison de Lafayette where she loved talking to others and visiting with family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers; Ms. Jane Nance, Mrs. Helen Foreman, and Ms. Lisa Delcambre. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Romero Ortemond and her husband Leon of the LeBlanc Community and Peggy Romero LeBlanc and her husband John Earl of Erath; a brother, Aldon Shug LeBlanc and wife Belva of Erath; granddaughter, Christina Ortemond Franques and her husband Andea, Leon David Ortemond, Jr., Lance David Ortemond and his wife Kelly, and John Felix LeBlanc all of the LeBlanc Community, and Gregory LeBlanc and his wife Brooke from Lafayette; and her great grandchildren whom she loved and enjoyed; Mary Catherine, Anna Grace, Jeanne Claire, and Laura Anna Franques, Caroline Elizabeth and Catherine Claire Ortemond, Alex, Emma, Kate, and Brilee LeBlanc. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Felix Romero; parents, Clement and Lucy Berger LeBlanc; a sister, Lillian LeBlanc Comeaux, and a brother, Elmo LeBlanc. Serving as pallbearers will be Leon David Ortemond, Jr., Lance David Ortemond, John Felix LeBlanc, Gregory LeBlanc, Andre C. Franques, and Aldon Shug LeBlanc. David Funeral Home of Erath at 209 E.
