Lafayette " A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00PM for Mr. James Jim Burke Soileau, 71, on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard with Father Keith Landry officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00PM and will resume on Saturday, May 1, 2010 from 8:00AM until service time. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum. A native of Ville Platte and resident of Lafayette, James passed away at 11:25PM on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at his residence with his family by his side. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending spring and summer time in his garden. He will be missed by his loving wife of 53 years, Seola Robin Soileau of Lafayette; his three sons, James Neal Soileau and his wife Sherri of Alaska, Timothy John Soileau and his wife Sherri of Henderson, and Anthony Tony Keith Soileau and his wife Rhonda of Broussard; one daughter, Karen S. Frederick and her husband Duane of Youngsville; his brother, Hosea Soileau, Jr. of Gretna; two sisters, Eula Mae Chapman of Ville Platte and Ellen Jean Guidry of Marrero; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, Francious and Aimee Vidrine Soileau; and three brothers, Floyd Soileau, Calvin Soileau and Atward Soileau. Serving as pallbearers will be James Soileau, Tony Soileau, Christopher James Soileau, Duane Frederick, Ronnie Hunt and Thomas Thibodeaux. Honorary pallbearer is Timothy Soileau.
