Erath- A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Leo J. LeBlanc, 84, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday August 05, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath . Reverend Wayne Duet will celebrate the mass and conduct the funeral services. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Erath on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary in French at 4:00 p.m. and again in English at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. Thursday until time of services at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow services in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Mausoleum. A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Erath, Mr. LeBlanc passed away at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Lafayette General Medical Center. He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in France, Germany and Austria, with the 259th AT Company. He was a member of the American Legion Derouen-Moss Post 279 of Erath and was a retired rice and cattle farmer of Vermilion Parish. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anna Belle Hebert LeBlanc; five children, Kenneth LeBlanc and his wife, Renee, of Franklin, TN, Deborah LeBlanc Frederick and her husband, Jerry, of Sugarland, TX, Jacquelyn LeBlanc Bernard and her husband, Ricky, of Erath, LA , Carl LeBlanc and his wife, Connie, of Abbeville, LA and Jennifer LeBlanc Mendoza and her husband, Al, of Erath, LA; 13 grandchildren, Matthew LeBlanc, Lauren LeBlanc, Erin LeBlanc Wilder, Kristen LeBlanc, Ryan Frederick, Kim Frederick Henderson, Emilie Bernard Bradley, Adam Bernard, Ross Bernard, Jason Gainer, Alex LeBlanc, Eric LeBlanc, and Megan LeBlanc; and 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emma Lou Bailey of New Iberia and Lena Alleman of Erath. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dudley and Ursule LeBlanc; an infant brother, Irby LeBlanc, and a sister, Robella LeBlanc Langlinais. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Ryan Frederick, Adam Bernard, Ross Bernard, Jason Gainer, Eric LeBlanc, and Matthew LeBlanc, and his godson Jason Alleman. Gift bearers will be his youngest grand-daughters Megan LeBlanc and Alex LeBlanc. Readers will be his daughters Jacquelyn LeBlanc Bernard and Deborah LeBlanc Frederick.
