Lafayette " Private memorial services for Mr. Marcel Stockmans, 73, will be held at a later date. A native of Belgium and a resident of Lafayette, Marcel passed away at 2:45PM on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at a local hospital. He was a prize-winning New Orleans artist. He is survived by his sister, Germaine Stockmans Clark and husband, Axie, of Milton; and six nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Petrus and Isabella Wynants Stockmans; and two sisters, Yvonne Stockmans Ver Beke and Marie Louise Stockmans Heynderickx.
