Abbeville " A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Betty J. Schexnayder Broussard, 77, will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church with Fr. DesOrmeaux officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Abbeville on Monday, September 6, 2010 from 11:00AM until 9:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of the services. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. A native of Perry and resident of Abbeville, Mrs. Broussard died at 3:40PM at Abbeville General Hospital. She was a hard working devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She retired from Wal-Mart after over 28 years of service. She is survived by a son, Kenneth Wayne Broussard and his wife Deanna of Meaux; a daughter, Connie LeBlanc and her husband Ronald of Abbeville; eight grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilton and Alice Delano Schexnayder; a daughter, Sheila Pere; and a sister, Barbara Hebert. Serving as pallbeaers will be Brannon Meaux, Chad Broussard, Ryan Pere, Joshua LeBlanc, Reggie Falgout, and Mike Donner. David Funeral Home of Abbeville at 2600 Charity St. (337)893-3777 will be handling the arrangements.
