Erath- Funeral Services for Raymond Lee Morgan, 74, will be held at 11:00AM, on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in the David Funeral Home Chapel of Erath with Deacon Cody Miller officiating. Visiting hours were observed, Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM and will resume Wednesday, September 8, 2010 from 8:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow services in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Abbeville. A longtime resident of Henry, Raymond passed away at 3:20PM on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at a local hospital. Mr. Morgan worked for Bayou Welding in New Iberia for over 30 years and was a lifelong sugar cane farmer. Raymond enjoyed gardening, fishing, eating out and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his brothers, Willie Morgan and his wife Angela R. Morgan and Herman Morgan and his wife, Amanda B. Morgan all of Erath; sisters, Gloria Morgan Creamer of Henry and Norma Morgan Luquette and her husband Wilfred Luquette, Sr. of Perry and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Grady Morgan, Sr. and Jeanne Thibodeaux Morgan; brothers, Bill William Morgan, Earl Morgan and Henry Tiny Morgan; sister, Earline Morgan Callahan; first wife, Mary Grace Bourque Morgan; second wife, Margaret L. Morgan and a step-son, Allen Ray Trahan. Pallbearers will be Willie Morgan, Michael Luquette, Ross Morgan, Dustin Landry, Jake LeBlanc and Mark LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearers will be Henry LeBlanc and Rickey LeBlanc. David Funeral Home of Erath, 209 East Putnam Street, (337)937-0405, is in charge of all arrangements.
