A native and resident of Erath, Louise passed away at 9:30AM on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at a local hospital. Louise was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved spending time with her family, and many close and dear friends whenever possible. Mrs. Bourgeois retired as Office Manager for Dr. Albert Sonnier.Louise was a dedicated and faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court #1670, a lifetime member of the Ladies Alter Society and for many years served as a Eucharistic minister for Our Lady of Lourdes Church Parish. Louise loved helping others. No feat was too small or too big if someone needed assistance. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed making those many special dishes for all of her friends as much as we enjoyed eating them. She had a heart as big as the world, and would drop everything to assist any family in their grief, and considered it an honor to recite the rosary along with them. We will all miss seeing that beautiful smile and glint in her eyes. Mrs. Louise was a truly dainty, sweet, humble, loving, and good natured person who we will all dearly miss. She is survived by her son, Dr. Carl James "Pookie" Doumit and his wife Karen of Columbus, Mississippi; grandson, Kevin John Doumit and his wife Terri of Columbus, Mississippi; and great grandchildren, Lauren Nicole Doumit, Kevin Andrew Doumit, Patrick James Doumit and Branden Wade Doumit all of Columbus, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clement "Junior" Bourgeois, Jr.; parents, Saleem and Latiffe Gabriel John; sisters, Adele Joseph, Rosie John, Agnes J. Doumit, Mabel John, Mary J. Doiron, Alice J. Bostany, and Annie Elaine John; and a brother, Sliman J. John. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin J. Doumit, Oswald Broussard, Freddie Doumit, Jr., Kenny Pellerin, Sonny Dronet, Philip Nunez, and Connie J. Doiron. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gaylyn Hebert, and Arch Bishop Thomas Rodi. The family would also like to extend special thanks to Mrs. Louise's care givers, Melony Lambert, Lynn Chatman, Carolyn Evans, Faye Foreman, and Mertis Harrington. David Funeral Home of Erath, 209 E. Putnam St.; (337) 937-0405 is handling the arrangements.
